Astrid’s comments about her shoot:
Hello, I’m Astrid. I’m twenty years old and have a few speciel hobbies and talents. The talent closest to my heart is singing, I’ve been singing all my life and have been in choir since I was ten. When I was younger I loved the idea of being a proffesional singer but as I grew older I realized I had other options that would be more realistic and easier to reach or obtain. Even though I will probably never make a career out of singing it will always be incredibly important to me and is something I do consistently in my free time.
A few of my hobbies include readin, writing, sewing, makeup, and costume design. The two hobbies I enjoy the most out of these would have to be writing and makeup. Their both such amazing artistic outlets and different ideas and moods can inspire both. Makeup is a greatly underappreciated art form but it’s such an enjoyable thing to do and excell at. I’m average at makeup at best but it’s something I enjoy so much. Doing makeup helps me channel any nerves I have when I go out in poublic and knowing I look really pretty always makes me feel happy, but thats not to say I don’t like the way I look without makeup, makeup is just a fun way to bring out any unnoticed beauty.
Writing isn’t something I always appreciated, I really came to love it when I was in high school. I wrote a few of my own short stories for my own enjoyement and slowly grew as a writer from there. Writing is the best outlet I have for when I’m upset or emotional, but it’s also somethin I love to do when I have down time and want to get my creative juices flowing. I’m not an amazing writer but I truly hope that as I get more practice with time that I can grow to be someone that other writer’s will look up to and aspire to be.
Costume design, sewing, and makeup play a big part into one of my biggest hobbies, cosplay. I’ve only been doing it for a few years but I love getting to dress up as something I’m not and look like a character that I love or relate to. It’s such a nice creative outlet and some of the most important people in my life I met through cosplay. I’ve made so many irreplacable memories because of cosplay and have met so many amazing and talented people through it. I’ve been to so many conventions and have gotten to meet people from some of my favorite shows or channels. for instance, at comic con I got to meet Calum Worthy, he plays Dez on Austin and Ally, and I got to meet a few members from the youtube channel rooster teeth. Cosplay presents so many wonderful opportunities to [people and it’s an activety I’m truly glad I got involved in.
One of the things I have always been extremely passionate aboput and loved dearly is nature. Being able to go outside and enjoy the enviorment in it’s natural state is something I’ve always loved. As a kid I ran around the neighborhood catching bugs and lizards and constantly scared my friends with them and showed them how cute I thought they were, admitedly I still think bugs and lizards are cute. I was that kid who watched more animal planet shows then cartoons or disney. I basically grew up on the animal planet and have so many random animal facts stored inside my brain from years of exposure. If anyone ever wants to know some odd animal fact then I’m the girl to go to.
In regards to music I have a really wide taste, I love indie, synth, elctronic, and folk. However the genre closest to my heart would have to be kpop. I’ve been into it since I was in tenth grade and I actually got to go to a kpop convention called kcon recently. It was the first time i had ever attended a concert or gotten to see so many of my favorite celebrities in person and it truly changed my life. Music is incredibly important to me and it always will be, whether it’s through the bands I listen to, or the music I sing. Music is a vital part of my life and I could never leave it behind.
